Thank you for visiting the Wake Forest Survivors of Suicide support group web site. We hope you'll find comfort by attending one of our support groups which meets monthly in Wake Forest, NC.
This group is for those who have lost someone to suicide. It could be a brother, sister, mother, father, son, daughter, friend - anyone who has chosen to end their life and you are having difficulties handling the loss.
Do not think you're not a survivor because you're not related to the person. Losing someone to suicide can be heart wrenching for anyone who knew the person.
We meet at Wake Forest United Methodist Church located at the corner of 1A /South Main Street and Highway 98 Bypass.
We meet in the Renewal Room located in the older section of the church (by the Chapel). Look for the orange signs to direct you.
The address is (click for Google map) 905 South Main Street
Wake Forest, NC 27587-9277.
Wake Forest Survivors of Suicide is now part of The Shore Grief Center, a nonprofit created to help all ages (6 and up) who is navigating the sea of grief by any type of loss. Read more about The Shore. We welcome your donations so we can start some wonderful programs in 2013!
Providing a safe and caring environment for kids and teens to express their grief is the goal of these groups. The object is prevent their grief from turning into depression and all the trappings that come along with mental illness.
There is no charge to attend the groups. Donations are greatly appreciated though so we can continue to expand and serve more folks who can benefit from our services.
Cameron's Kids is the grief support group for children ages 6-12. The loss does not have to be due to suicide but a death by any means.
Save the Teens Grief Group is for teens ages 13-18. Once again, any death is acceptable for attendance. **these groups can be held in middle and high schools upon approval from the school!
